[bogiesan] “In any case, AE, Motion or FCP, you will need to scale your clip up to about 110-120% to cover the fact that, as you move it around the frame, you will see the edge of the clip”
Not when using photos and such as I believe the OP is using, as he mentioned using FCP to pan the images. It’s very likely these stills are much larger than video frame to allow for pans and scales in post. Also I’d use “Motion” with a randomize behavior as alread suggested. you can tweak the filter ever so much each time so they don’t all look the same.

  • Yes, I use this plug in almost daily, and it makes FCP AE intigration a breeze. Also when you use AE on a mac it makes it easier to archive all materials for a project a lot easier since it’s all on the same machine.

It could be that the lighting in your suite is very dim (much as mine is) so it creates more eye strain while focusing on this much brighter light. I’d like to darken up my FCP interface a bit as well. Hopefully they’ll add that feature soon. Didn’t it take AE till version 7 to add that option? I also have issue with most webpages for the same reason. Sure black on white is easiest to read in a book or on paper, but that paper isn’t emitting light from the lightest parts. Webpages that are black with light colored text are much easier to deal with. Often times i’ll hit the white on black option on Universal Access if i have to read a ton of stuff online.

Don’t update in the middle of a project. If you are worried about the gamma shift issue just do the AE animation in 8bit.

It happens with FCP, Motion, AE, Combustion Etc. The Apps Don’t know how to share a firewire device, so when you tab from one app to another you will get a warning letting you know you it can’t pick up the device. It’s not exclusive to AJA as I seem to recall it happens anytime you are viewing out of firewrie.

Or the way most digital camera’s number photos. DSC_0004.jpg, DSC_0005.jpg It’ll read those as an image sequence.

Export quictime converstion. from the format menu select Image Sequence. Then click the option button and set to Tiff, Photoshop, or whatever filetype you want. if you need to roto, why not use AE, or if it’s not too complex, try motion.

when you put markers on your timeline instead of hitting m once hit m twice and then click the chapter button. They’ll now stay when you go over to dvdsp.
