OT: ProMax experiences?
Anyone have either good or bad experienes with ProMax either in the editing systems category or camera accessories category?

Outstanding company, good folks and a very early adopter of Final Cut Pro. I purchased my first system from them 5 years ago and they even have their own forum here on the Cow.

We’ve gotten a couple different FCP systems from them. Great company. Great customer service. I highly reccomend them.

Got the original Kona/G4/FCP from them and it’s still chugging. Great customer service too. No major complaints at all.

Great customer service! Had everything in stock I was looking for (other places always seemed to be missing one item) even delivered it from Irvine up to Culver City on a Friday afternoon for free!

I’ve known and used Promax for a variety of solutions over the years…. I knew (and loved) the founder, Charles McConathy for more than 16 years–WOW, what a giver.
With that said, I’m troubled by the fact that external monitoring solutions (waveform monitors/vectorscopes), over the past several years, are not recommended, and not specified (in any situation), and are not available on request. They simply don’t understand that there is such a need to see what video is doing in the analog domain. I understand that there are some rather new alternatives that some are using with success (Walter?); yet, for many proper external test equipment is not an option it’s a necessity. Anyway, that’s my only gripe…
So, I have used, recommended, and appreciated Promax with no regrets–Thanks Promax! Also, I do consider them for future needs as well; yet, they were more helpful to me personally in the early days.
