This is happening to me as well and is a major part of my big disappointment with Vegas 11. It might help to re-render the file and choose “use CPU only” rather than “auto” in the template customization. Good luck.

Thank you for the suggestion, but I don’t know how this would be done. I use Sound Forge 9 – would that work? Do you mean duplicate the track and apply opposite-phase cancellation to one and then merge them? Is opposite-phase cancellation an “effect” or what? This may be beyond me, which is not a problem as the echo effect is not completely maddening.
    Thanks.

Thank you for the quick reply.
I’m a frequent participant of the Sony Vegas Cow forum, but I have learned that the other forums are populated by knowledgeable and friendly people.
    Thanks.

    Thanks for your responses.
Yes I do have Sound Forge and can render mp3s there.
    Workflow:
    Choose Render as
    Choose mp3 as the template
However the render button is greyed out.

Thanks Mitch, but I wanted to let you know that I already have the version you linked to and it also immediately crashes Vegas 11. It doesn’t crash vegas 10, but I can’t really get it working there either – it won’t accept my serial number or function properly.

I have been a Vegas user since version 2.0 and have loved it. Version 10 was less solid than previous versions, but completely usuable. 11 has been a nightmare for me. I have 64 bit i7 system with 12 GB RAM and AMD video card. I’ve had numerous crashes and still can’t render mp4 files unless I limit rendering to CPU only. New Blue titler immediately crashes Vegas and is completely unusable. My attempts to get help with these issues from Sony and New Blue tech support have been underwhelming at best.

I’m not ready to switch quite yet, but the situation is sad and disappointing.

    February 2, 2012 at 1:00 pm in reply to: Sony NEX-FS100UK Super35??

I like manual controls and I need XLR inputs so the Sony NEX VG-20 unfortunately wouldn’t work for me. I don’t do weddings, but rather a lot of office interviews, green screen interviews, and b-roll shooting, so both tripod and handheld. Also some short film work. The Canon C300 looks great, but it’s 15 grand! Of the cameras listed above the Panasonic comes closest to the Sony NEX-FS1000UK, but I find myself leaning towards Sony probably just because that’s what I’m used to. I also really like the idea of 60 progressive frames per second, or having that capability, and the other cameras in this price range don’t seem to have that.

    Thanks.

  • There is no way around this. You can open projects saved in earlier versions in later versions, but not vice versa. Sorry.

go to the support section of sony’s website and register:
    https://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/myaccount/register.asp
then send an email to technical support. They will give you a ticket number and respond (eventually).

I’m using Vegas 10 for anything important right now as 11 is completely unreliable for me as of yet.

I take it back! It worked for 3 short renders then broke again. Reinstalling again did not help. Sorry. I have a registered a support ticket with sony media about this, but they have been disappointly unresponsive over this and other Vegas 11 issues I am having.
