Part of the issue here is that you said this is your first year shooting weddings. I agree with the previous poster that weddings need to be booked a year in advance at times. In future years this may not be a slow session for you.

But here in Virginia it gets too hot for brides to have an outside wedding from the middle of July to Mid-August. So there are ups and downs.

But yours maybe simply due to the fact that you haven’t been on the market that long.

    Good Luck!

I haven’t downloaded or heard any of the music yet, but musician Moby has just began to allow free download of his music for small and independent projects. I can only assume that a wedding would fall under that heading.

    Check it out at https://www.moby.com/

I would agree with Doug. Go with the Canon. The set-up will be closer to what you are used to.

Not knocking FX-1. A great camera. But if you are used to GL2, the HDV versions will be closer in feel and set-up.

I have noticed the same “issue”.

I try adjusting the filter in the effects control to see what happens.

Shadow/highlight works great in Photoshop for my still images, but it doesn’t seem the best for lightening video images.

Try the brightness and contrast filter and see how that compares.

  • I agree with everything Timothy said.

I also would add, are you talking about blurry video on your computer moniter or through a broadcast monitor?

And since this is an XL2, are you talking about 24P 30P, or 60i? All of those will give different looks.

But more than likely it is probably a simple case of not having rendered the section.

    Anyway way let us know.

Is it possible that the Drive letter being different is also a possible part of the problem?

When I load a project into PPro 1.5 it indicates the location of the project starting with the drive letter.

I’m more raising the thought for my own benefit and education.

  • You didn’t say what the white balance was on the two cameras.

If the cameras were set on auto then that is more difficult, because when the camera is set to auto then the white balance on the camera does not stay on one setting, but moves all over the place in the same shot. Speaking from experience this is a pain for an editor.

But when the cameras are set on one particular white balance setting then it is much eaiser to adjust because the balance is in one position and not constantly adjusting.

But you have several options in Pro to correct color, color balance, curves, color corrections…. and there is no one correct way of doing it.

Sorry that doesn’t give you the answer you were looking for.

I would just recommend “playing” with all the image adjust tools in Pro, I have found that to be the best way to learn and discover new things.

    Good luck,

    Actually uninstall Nero.

From what I have read on the forums on the Adobe site you should not have a third-party software on a authoring system.

When I upgraded my burner to a double-layer I never installed Nero at all and have never had any problems with discs from either Pro or Encore.

What confuses or concerns me is that you think this occured after you installed AVID on your system, or that you were already burning with Nero.

If removing Nero does not work post your question in the AVID forum and see what they have to say.

Take a look at this link from the Adobe Offical Site.

Turn Nero off and see what happens.

The way I understand it applications like Nero and others constantly “talk” to the DVD burner, and therefore interfering, so it won’t matter where you place Nero.

My guess is Nero is the problem.

Let us know if that works.
