I’m selling my Canon Gl2 and Xl1s and ready to make the HDV switch. I’m thinking of getting a HVR A1U and a HVR V1U. Can anyone out there have any experience with these cameras? Any recommendations?

Since you already know how to use the Canons I’ll stay with Canon. I own the A1 and I think that it is the best HDV camera for the money.

I have an FX1. I love it. Though not the newest kid on the block it is still a great camera.

I would agree with Doug. Go with the Canon. The set-up will be closer to what you are used to.

Not knocking FX-1. A great camera. But if you are used to GL2, the HDV versions will be closer in feel and set-up.
