You can’t. The multi-tap shortcuts are strictly for the tool palette and can’t be reassigned to custom commands.

You can do batch style changes to FCP text generators (including our DH_Subtitle plug-in) with TitleExchangePro from Spherico. It’s a little bit complicated but you basically export an XML with your current subtitles, then define a style template for TitleExchangePro and merge the two together to apply a new style across all the subtitles.

Interesting. What codec was this with and in what scenarios did you get lower quality in RT vs rendered?

You do not have to render everything on FCP before playing to tape. If it’s a dark green bar on the timeline, then that’s full quality RT.

Avid doesn’t have FCP’s ingenious dynamic RT architecture which is a big thumbs up for FCP in my book.

How did you sync up the original multiclip? When you add an extra angle, FCP uses the same method to determine the sync relationship. So if you used a common in point to sync angles 1-5 then you should mark a corresponding in point on your 6th angle before adding it to the existing multiclip.

One potential problem is that Avids (media composer range not DS) expect to deal with straight alpha images. Motion always exports premultiplied on black and there isn’t the option to set it to straight.

If you import a premultiplied source into Avid you’ll see black fringing around the graphic. Is that the effect you’re seeing?

What disk storage are you using? If all the media is on a single Firewire drive then you will have hiccups. You really need a RAID solution for doing that number of streams.

It’s about as simple as it gets:

1. Export from FCP as OMF file
2. Open Nuendo and choose File > Import > OMF to create a new project

Yes all tracks will remain independent and editable in Nuendo.
