Awesome! It worked. I used the Sony AVC at 16Mb/s Template and it played beautifully on my player.

    Thanks for the help…

    Thanks Dave –

by “just getting the audio” I was referring to playing the DVD in my Blu-ray player. When I put the disc into the Pioneer BD-RW player, it automatically begins to play – however you only hear the audio (the screen is black).

I’m going to try rendering to Sony AVC at 16Mb/s and see if that helps.

    thanks for tip.

SUCCESS!!! Perhaps this will help someone if they run into a similar problem. I went back and rendered each scene individually with the “Main Concept MPEG-2 / Template: BluRay 1920x1080i 24p/25mbps” template. All scenes rendered successfully. However, the master veg file would still not render.

I then went in and looked at each scene’s “Properties” and noted that not all scenes were consistent. Some were using the HD 1080-24p others were using a template that had 29.970 FPS. Further I had different “Pixel Formats (some at “8 bit” other scenes at “32-bit floating point full range”).

Once I made all scenes consistent (“Main Concept MPEG-2 / Template: BluRay 1920x1080i 24p/25mbps” And “32-bit floating point full range”) I was able to render with success……

    Good learning experience…

Thanks Steve….indeed I did have a number of unused media files in the “Project Media” tab. I went ahead and removed all the unused files. However it still did not help. I am still locking up at the same point in the rendering process.

I’ll keep trying, perhaps rendering individual scenes to isolate the problem…

May 25, 2011 at 1:12 pm in reply to: Rendering and converting to flash .flv

Has anyone tried this program? I’m currently shooting HD MTS files (about 3 minutes in length. I’m rendering these files to MP4 (1280×720 / 2MPS)and emaiing the files to clients.

I now want to post these files to a webpage and was looking for an HD Flash format. I’m wondering what program would be best to use to convert to flash.

On a side note, from a workflow perspective, is there a better way to render the original file (before rendering to flash). I.e Render the original to MOV(custom Animation?). I’m trying to reduce the amount of times I need to render files. The MP4 is working well for emailing/quality — so if I could stay with that, that would be good, but am open to your thoughts if it will improve quality or save time.

[John Rofrano] “Make sure that when you install future VST plug-ins, you place them in the same folder so that Vegas sees them.”

will do – thanks for the heads up.

Thanks John – I actually found a youtube video that showed me how to create a folder (I called it VST Plug-Ins) in my program folder on the “C” drive. I put the BIAS.dll in there. Launched Vegas and navigated to that folder. It worked! So everything is working.

For whatever reason, I could not find a “VST” folder in the Sony main folder. I saw “Video Plug-Ins” and a couple of other folders that had plug-in extensions, but no VST folder. Note – that in Vegas – when I went to the VST folder thru the “View” Plug-ins menu, my VST folder was there, but empty. Once I created the new folder and navigated there, I was able to see BIAS.

Thanks again for your hel and quick responses.

Okay – here’s an update. I just got an email back from BIAS Support that said:
“We have seen this with certain Windows systems with the Realtek soundcards. We have found that you must have both the input AND output being used to allow SoundSoap 2 to work with it.

You would only need to plug a cable into the input, not actually be sending audio to the input – this could be a cable, a set of headphones – anything with a 1/8″ connection.”

This actually worked! I used a 1/8″ plug into the line/mic jack and I’m in business.

Now – what am I doing wrong to get Vegas to recognize Soundsoap as a VST plug in?

That’s what I thought too. I gave a shot at installing the program on my 32bit XP system and can’t even get by the installation stage. I’m getting an “Error 1904 module C:\windows32\msxml4.dll failed to register. Contact your support personnel message.

I did find a BIAS forum that I just posted to and I’ll see what comes back…I’m thinking I should have gone Izotope RX, but thought it may be a little overkill for my needs (and a little pricey), but I may have to reconsider.

    Thanks for your help.

It’s not in the VST folder. I did a little research in this forum and a I saw a post from you that Soundsoap only works with Vegas 32bit not 64. Could this be why I’m not seeing it in the VST folder?

Also – still not getting it to work as a standalone either…more research to do…….
