One other thing… are you downscaling on output? This happens to me with some graphics when going from an UHD timeline to HD renders. Solution is to temporarily change timeline to HD, render, then switch back.,

Looks like a render error to me. Maybe related to GPU acceleration. (Could try turning that off.)

Try a different render CODEC , or maybe render to an intermediate (lossless or near lossless format) , and then render again to the final MP4. If you do the latter, and find the intermediate is “clean” you then also have the option to encode externally in something like Handbrake.

Yes. 4k slideshows work just the same as SD or HD .

I would set up your project for UHD resolution, do all your slideshow moves, and then export using either the Intel HEVC codec (UHD preset) or some flavor of h.264 (will have to make your own preset). I have done both, but prefer HEVC. It is slow but reliable.

FYI, unless you stand within about 6 feet of your TV you will be hard pressed to see a difference between UHD renders and high bitrate HD. Try a couple short test renders to see.

Yes, there are some early reports of playback problems with some types of footage using the new “engine.”

Go to the magix forum and look up replacing (temporarily) the so4 compundplug dll.

DVD architect is quite old, and does not yet (maybe never) support UHD disk authoring. So no HEVC. You could make a “data” disk with HEVC files on it, but that probably isn’t what you want.

HEVC rendering is slower the h264 in general, and the Intel HEVC in Vegas only uses QSV on intel CPU’s for performance enhancement.

I think this is related to a known bug. Make sure you are on the latest build. You can search for more info on the Magix Vegas forum.

  • Just press the L or J while holding the K down. You can step up or down in speed while continuing to hold K.

  • Menu — View — Video Bus Track (uncheck)

Part 1 – lots and lots of templates for almost every deliverable format. Plus you can easily make your own as others have said.

Part2 – Have to disagree with you there. The latest builds are very minor updates that (usually) affect very few users. They are working on using the “net notify” feature of Vegas (and other ex Sony programs) but it appears to be a little inconsistent at present. In the meanwhile, if you have a problem that you think might be fixed by a recent build you just need to look in the NEWS tab of the Vegas (magix) forum

Personally, I think Vegas and Magix communications are improving all the time. 🙂

  • I think this is going to hurt a little…

Yes, Mercalli V4 plug -in does sometimes (often?) lose its settings. If you change the project frame rate, or have a media frame rate mismatch, or change the length of the event, etc. Also, in my experience with it, you will not always be successful “re-analyzing” and sometimes you need to completely delete the effect and start again.

Typically, I would render and replace a stabilized clip with an intermediate (cineform?) so the stabilization is “baked-in.”

So, what to do now? Can you quickly go through the clips and move all the mercalli clips to another track? Vegasaur has a batch script to apply mercalli and run the analysis on all selected clips (or by track, etc.) – this may work for you.

    Mark.
