Try this:

In the PP CS5.5 program preview window, click the output pull down, and choose “playback settings.” Check the “turn off dropped frame warning.”

This worked well for me, hopefully it will help.

Hi Edison,

Just noticed your thread. I had precisely the same problem (works with 7.7.1, but no newer firmware, and never asks to update). In the end I asked Blackmagic support to update the firmware for me, and they agreed willingly. However, they sent me a NEW unit back so I can only assume that mine was defective.

I would suggest you send your shuttle back for repair/replacement.

Are you working with Blackmagic support? As I mentioned in my previous post I have an x58 system and 7.7.3 drivers don’t work for me either. Interesting, however, is that 7.7.1 does (mostly) work and that even 7.7.3 drivers allow intensity shuttle to be seen by the operating system – thus does not appear to be a hardware level problem. Guess we need some help from the tech support team!

I am having similar problems – although less severe. 7.7.1 drivers work with Media express, Adobe cs4 apps and Vegas 9, but not with Virtual Dub or Cineform’s Firstlight. 7.7.3 drivers cause the latter two to crash, After effects to complain about “quicktime component can’t load” and Media express / Premier / Vegas cannot see the intensity shuttle. Shuttle does appear on the windows 7 devices list and claims to be working properly.

I am using a gigabyte x58 ud5 board + asus Usb3 card, so it may be that upgrading to a new p55/x58 board will not solve your problem.
