You apply the behavior to the Replicator itself, not the group. Once you add a parameter, you need to change it’s value to see any animation. I think it might benefit you to read through the built-in help on how to use the sequence replicator behavior, might save some time.

Neither. You add the Opacity parameter to the Sequence Replicator behavior, and set it to 0 – this will animated the opacity of every cell to 0 (or from 0 or through, depending on the choice you make). If you haven’t used the Sequence Replicator behavior yet, you may want to play with it on a simpler test project – it’s incredibly powerful.

Use a sequence replicator behavior on opacity set to 0, adjust the spread, then adjust your replicator build style to determine how the animation moves through the replicated cells.

  • Not possible, I’m afraid. However, if you could get your camera data into Cinema 4D 11.5 or greater, then you could get a Motion project out of C4D that would contain all your camera, light, and layer position data.

What you are seeing is that the behavior or the opacity change is forcing the text to become rasterized, and therefore composited in layer order. That’s what the little box that shows up around the icon means – and the blue LED next to the Opacity parameter in the Inspector.

Try animating the Face Opacity of the text with a sequence text behavior – face opacity changes don’t trigger rasterization like layer opacity does.

You need to export using a format that supports the alpha channel, like tiff or png.

Not all at once, but you can select layers and use Export Selection…

More RAM will increase the number of frames that can be loaded into memory and played back in real time, but won’t do much for you in terms of performance. Motion’s performance is dictated primarily by your graphics card, which does all the heavy lifting. And you can’t change the card in a laptop. That said, 2GB is very low and I’d highly recommend at least 4.

Motion blur is enabled under the Render pop-up menu (in Motion 4) – or Option-M. The shutter angle can be adjusted by going to Edit > Project Properties, in the back tab.
