Looks almost like you have the field order reversed. Have you tried None as the field order?
Otherwise, perhaps it’s related to the shutter angle on the motion blur?
Very odd – shouldn’t look like that for sure.—

You’ll probably need to create separate clips then. Duplicate the clip and then trim the ins and outs.
Here’s where Smooth is in the HUD:—

It’s in the HUD (Heads Up Display). In Motion’s Help there’s a primer on tracking, I’d suggest reading through it, lots of good info in there.
As to your project properties, those can be changed in Edit > Project Properties … but realize that 1440×1080 basically is 1920×1080 with an anamorphic squeeze.

Set it to Smooth rather than Stabilize and then adjust the amount to taste.

In FCP, with the sequence active, choose Sequence > Settings, go to the Render Control tab, and try changing the rendering for Master Templates to Best.

Depends on what you are doing, but lots of RAM and this card make a big difference.

Don’t waste your money – the drivers aren’t optimized for Motion. Best card right now is the ATI Radeon 5870. 4870 is almost as good.

Changing the size of the text is different than changing the size of the text box. If want to change the size of the text box, the Layout needs to be set to Paragraph. One way to do this is before you start typing but after selecting the Text tool, click-drag to create a box of the size you want. This will automatically set the layout to Paragraph. The other way is to choose that setting after the fact, then double-click in the text box and drag one of the square bounding box handles to resize the box.
If you want to change the size of the text itself, you can either change the font size in the HUD or Inspector, or the Scale of the text layer (for example, by dragging a corner of the bounding box when the text is set to the layout Type or using the Scale parameter in the Inspector).
These methods should work the same in both Motion 3 and 4.

You cannot import 3D objects into Motion and manipulate them as if you were in a 3D program. Zaxwerks gets you close. The C4D integration is fantastic, but that is integration 3D data for compositing, not objects.
