I have a light streak that wraps around a text element so text is inside the loop of the light streak.

problem is that once I apply any kind of behavior or adjust the opacity to the text element, the 3d layering goes away. I want the text to appear softly when the streak goes around it. like a soft edged wipe or, heck, even a fade up would be okay.

    Thanks….

What you are seeing is that the behavior or the opacity change is forcing the text to become rasterized, and therefore composited in layer order. That’s what the little box that shows up around the icon means – and the blue LED next to the Opacity parameter in the Inspector.

Try animating the Face Opacity of the text with a sequence text behavior – face opacity changes don’t trigger rasterization like layer opacity does.

    Awesome workaround. Thanks much!

I actually prefer animating the face blur and opacity now that I know how.
