    True,

Lst year this time I was deep in multicam clips for several projects. The camera angles were captured by different spec cameras and so required some correction for matching. I applied color correction to angles in the multicam clip as required. The color correction work was done As an earlier step in the process and so when I output the final version the color correction tracked across all the cuts.

October 25, 2021 at 1:25 pm in reply to: Which HDD to compliment a new M1Pro or Max

I got a M1 Mac mini , 16 GB and 1 TB ssd. I cut about 8 multi cam projects of varying length 4 K and 1080 ftg combined with this computer and my drive was a 2 TB samsung T7. I make ‘forked’ libraries with the library file residing on the computer’s ssd and the media residing on the T7. This combination has proved to be a very fluid editing experience, I’m using a track pad and can skate through the time lines and what seems like warp speed.

I also have a some libraries on a OWC Thunderbay raid which has 4 spinning laptop drives, and is a bit long in the tooth, however once I got the updated M1 compatible softraid driver installed on my mini plus the chain of adapters to go from M1 TB to thunderbolt 1, even this drive seems quite a bit more responsive than it was with the previous iMac I used for editing.

For projects with less media, I’m going to keep rolling with my T7 and for the bigger project I’ve got a Promise Raid on another system, though nothing prevents us, except for budget, from stocking a Thunderbay or similar chassis with some ssd’s and having at it.

  • Make a note- when it comes to titles and sound levels among other things the inspector is your best friend. You can do temp titles and place them, then select the all in the inspector, change the font, font style, color just about any parameter and apply the change all of them – boom .

Enabling the trim tool is exactly what I thought was the case, so of course I toggled the A key and couldn’t exit the position function. I tried toggling the A key several times to no effect and then maybe two minutes later, X went back to normal operation.

    Video is labeled Private

  • The answer to your question might be the “custom” title choice which has controls for direction, speed, sequence of write on and write off.

I’m not asking color match to do much. I already have done a manual match myself for the same 2 cameras on another project, and I figured I would try the tool just for th heck of it. The FCPX tool is simple, I’m simply surprised that it does not work as intended on my machine . I’m on the verge of getting color Finale, I already use their transcode tool for my Braw files and I had an earlier version of the app that I got some use out of but let go out of date.

Yep. like the extension . The 1.1 upgrade has been released, however I do not see a way to download or get the update in any way shape or form.

I bought the plug in – It works & I really like the Gen 5 color science with the BMPC4k . I had one funky transcode on a short clip, which came out ok on second attempt. I was hoping for BRAW implementation in X, which cold maybe still happen but until such time the Colro Finale plug in will be a welcome addition.
