after digging around some, it seems there is a 3rd party app which will constantly run in the background of my macpro/macbook pro to prevent it fouling up my PC’s – nice there is an app, not so nice to have some app always running to prevent it… so if there is any other way you guys know of, Id be very pleased to know about it.

Hey Pat,
No way am I going to put that on my back, knees and hips will definitely say NO.
I just wish those wheels were pneumatic rather than so hard.

Perhaps i will re-arrange the case so the camera is higher up in the case. At the moment it is at the bottom of the case closest to the wheels. If it was suspended by a partition rather than resting on the floor of the case it might make all the difference… AND I can avoid buying another item.

Hey there Ken, yeah, long time…!

Thanks Olof and Ken for your input, I wonder what the real truth is about this, how much cushioning the camera needs/gets with what kind of wheels etc.

There is no way I can carry my Pelican case and tripod for any distance, and my commute to Soho involves 10 min walk to train station, and 10 min walk from underground station to office, and then to locations… but I cant help thinking its this vibration which caused the damage to my ex-1

Hi Craig,

Yeah, it might be internal, the external pins are squeaky clean.

A local repair chappy reset the Ex-1 prefs, but that did not fix it.

It works fine on Mains, so I will use mains for my shoot on Monday and send the camera in on Tuesday… sniff…

Hi mate, yep, Greg’s post did mention ALT dragging, and it works well, but I was just wondering why the timing paramters in the clip properties did a slide and did not allow a slip.

Hey Greg and others,

I was trying this today, and great that it works, but it seems odd that this isnt the same as changing the In and Out TIMING in the clip properties. When you adjust the clip properties IN, all it does is move the clip in the timeline (!?) I dont see the point of that, when you can just as easily move the clip in the timeline by dragging it. Is there a reason for the slipping not being available as part of TIMING in properties? Perhaps this Timing thing should have a slip or slide check box to chose from?

Hi guys,

I spoke to Apple UK on Saturday and the support guy confirmed this component has to be purchases separately.

But just a second, didnt I buy that codec/component when I bought FCS2? It seemed to be included with the Suite then, and now it seems to have been taken away and they want us to buy something we already paid for???

Surely this cannot be the case… it would be tantemount to Apple stealing from it’s customers!

In any case, I got the “component” from my laptop which somehow still works. If anyone wants help, email me privately.
