Hi Steve,

PPro had the time? How so? Years ago, I left Discreet Edit for PPro1 because I had hoped for a very fast gaining of features, but it took many years. Eventually adobe lost me to FCP purely because after the rewrite of code, it too soooo long to get a stable version that I decided to jump ship. Im sure MANY others left Ppro for FCP because of that in the last few years… so now it may be FCP’s turn to suffer a reduction in features (and users?) for a more modern substructure. PPro5 is the first version which has me go hmmm, the grass may be greener over there!

Thanks for the response.

At work we have a very fast fibre optic connection, I work at TBWA agency… my test was between the work macpro and my personal macbook pro booted to Windows 7. Both computers hard wired to the building ethernet, and capable of very fast up and downloads… the picture quality was far worse than making a skype video call wirelessly on my laptop from home… which would be using a waaay slower connection than my work ethernet.

With the ability to stream fantastic quality video these days, i was hoping the answer would not be that the technology isnt good enough. If I get a chance today I will try iChat to iChat, see if that is substantially better or not.

I remember seeing 64 bit all over apple’s pages when I bought my MacPro, just a couple of months before Leopard came out… It does seem apple were “stretcing the truth” for marketing reasons!

There are some (famous) editing, compositing, graphics packages coming out in 64 bit ONLY next year, so it will be very disappointing to have to buy new computers when I had thought these were fully capable.

My MBPro has a 320gb drive, half for win7, half for osx. I would say dual boot is safer than parallels, but I have used both (VMWare, not parallels, but the same sort of thing.)

It boots up to Windows by default as I prefer windows, unless I am editing with FCP, of course.

As Walter says, its always best to be as clean as possible with an edit system, but I have a Mac desktop for more serious editing and have had no problems running windows on a mac.

Oh my god…

I have the same problem.

White templates, regardless of whether they are templates that came with FCP or templates I just made…

I installed Snow Leopard on a clean hard drive three days ago, and FCP Studio, of course also a clean install, updated, have all my KONA LHE drivers etc… viewer set to RGB/Image…

Any ideas?
