As long as the folders have the entire file structure in tact, you should be able to use “Log and Transfer” to import the P2 footage.

Well… it doesn’t really. It just avoids it.
It seems that the Long-GOP nature of HDV will cause issues like this and rendering to ProRes422 will solve this.

Thus the reasoning in Apple allowing you to render to ProRes422 when working with HDV/XDCAM.

If I’m not mistaken… FCP 5.1.4 is not compatible with the newer Mac Pro systems. And I’m betting that it really won’t work on the newest systems out there.
Sounds like you got lucky for a while until some software was updated.
But let me ask you this… You paid big bucks to upgrade your system but not the software that makes you the money? That doesn’t make much sense to me.
My advice to you is to upgrade your FCP to FCS 2 and all will be fine again.

That’s odd… I’ll try it.
Do you know of a way to add services in QMaster? Can I add FCP as a service? Or does it use the Compressor settings for FCP?

It seems to me you are rendering while exporting. I bet you don’t notice all the full rt effects cuz your machine is so blazing fast, or something to that extent. “
Every effect is rendered. The only thing that isn’t rendered is the video clips themselves that I captured.
BTW, the OctoCore isn’t that fast… I wish! I did notice that FXFactory effects are near realtime but still degraded for RT. Colorista is still very sluggish until you render.
This OctoCore isn’t the next generation, its the previous generation that came with Tiger. I’m still not ready to make that jump just yet. I still have some plugins that aren’t compatible yet.
