Final Cut Pro 5 not responding on MAC PRO
I’m using FINAL CUT PRO 5 on MAC PRO two 3.2GHz-Core Intel Xeon (8-core) and when I first installed it a few weeks ago it worked fine, I worked for several days with no problem at all but recently FINAL CUT stops respongig after I play around a little with some media files (even DV). I tried several things but still it doesn’t work and I have a lot of thing to edit.
Any advise? please.

If I’m not mistaken… FCP 5.1.4 is not compatible with the newer Mac Pro systems. And I’m betting that it really won’t work on the newest systems out there.
Sounds like you got lucky for a while until some software was updated.
But let me ask you this… You paid big bucks to upgrade your system but not the software that makes you the money? That doesn’t make much sense to me.
My advice to you is to upgrade your FCP to FCS 2 and all will be fine again.

Thanks, yeah, I will upgrade to FCS 2, it sucks I have to do it now I wanted to hold it for a while, I didn’t know the “uncompatibility” was so drastic in the newest model. I used FCP 5.1.4 on the 3.0GHz last december and it worked fine. It’s the newest 3,2GHZ where I really find a problem.

It may have worked on a G5, but now you have a MacPro. Totally different processor.
