How about if you use iWeb to create web pages thru .Mac? This way each can select what they want to see and if you want, you can make separate web pages for each of your clients and giving them the address for their web page.
I’ve only done this once for one client and it worked nicely.
Just a thought…

The highest quality you can fit on your DVD is the best setting. I’ve never had any issues using the 90 min setting for doing DVDs of broadcast programs.

The only way you can benefit from this is to capture on the fly and avoid going to tape. Once it is on tape, it’s compressed. Now, everybody here has their own opinion on this but I do have to agree that DVD is DV no matter what you do with it. DVD has the same compression scheme as DV video, so it all depends on what you wish to do with it.
This project of yours… is it going to DVD only? If so, don’t worry about it. If you have lots of graphics that need to be keyed, then I would suggest that you capture all of your footage using another better quality codec. DV doesn’t handle keyed graphics very well.

Hey guys…
Let me ask you this…
How are you getting SMPTE bars thru you Kona card? Are you coming out of FCP?
The reason I ask this is because the Kona card doesn’t have SMPTE bars built into it. Go figure. I have every other pattern know to man BUT not SMPTE bars. At the moment, I’m having to use FCP to do this until AJA includes these in their control panel.

I agree with Shane…
Your thinking is great…. BUT you really can’t improve DV. DV is DV, no matter what you do with it. You CAN reduce some of the artifacting like Shane said, but quality is based on your input quality. If you capture DV using the component outputs of your machine, it will still look like DV because of the compression of DV.
You only option to gain quality is to sell your DV equipment and replace it with HDV. Downconverted HDV is really impressive when it goes to DVD.

Something to keep in mind, guys….
Apple’s ProRes 422 is AWESOME!
BUT, if you have been working in a format like DVCProHD or another high compression format, ProRes 422 does cost you much more drive space than you are used to using. If you are already an editor using Uncompressed 8-bit or 10-bit, then the transition will be very painless and easy.
Do some tests, manage your media and play with it before you start a project that uses ProRes entirely.

Hey Gang…
Just look in your “About This Mac”, “More Info…” under the little blue Apple at the top left of your main monitor. Click on “Graphics/Displays” and look to see what bus your system has.
If your G5 is an older first generation style like mine (G5 dual 2.7) that has PCI-X, you’ll need the X1900 GT card. If yours is the newer style PCI-e, the X1900 XT will be the card for you. Simple.
Look at the Apple Store and look under Displays. You’ll find the ATI X1900 GT for older style G5 systems. If you are still having problems finding it… Here it is.
As for the original question… YES, the X1900 XT is the recommended card for color on any of the G5/Mac Pro systems.

This is true IF you have one of the versions that has PCI-X as my secondary system. ATI does make an ATI X1900 GT for this computer, which is the same card but for the PCI-X buss. Right now, mine has an X800 but I am looking at the option of going with the X1900 GT card.
Apple has this card for $349.

Well, Mike…. I have some questions for you. What is your Easy Setup? How are your drives striped? Do you have them Journaled?
As for Don Walker…. Reformat your drives. Now, are these 3 500 gig drives used to video editing only OR is one of these used for your system drive. If you are using all three for editing, stripe all three together into ONE volume. This will solve your problem.
