[david bogie] “Then I got a Photoshop expert on the project. She handled it completely differently and was able to apply some magic to the original night scene so it actually looked like the lights were OUT”

Would you be able to describe the magic she did in a little more depth?

Thank you for your effort Paul and on the contrary I think you have answered my query:
[PaulD] “FCP has no facility to ‘tweak’ levels of the timeline audio tracks independently of the clips thereupon, if you slide the clips forward/back in time then the level tweaks remain attached, and slide accordingly.”

In case someone knows different I have explained myself in more detail:

Using the pen tool; I put many audio level adjustments directly into my music track thus avoiding voice and music “fighting”.
Unfortunately some extra lines of dialog have since been added to our script and I now need to move some of my audio level adjustments down the timeline (in sync with the extended dialog track) whilst keeping the actual music track unedited.

Thanks for your reply to an enquiry about a method to open an audio transition in the viewer window …I since remembered that one doesn’t do that!

Regarding the comments about dissolves; with all respect it may be yourself who has misunderstood:

Unlike white coated men at early 1980’s film labs, or Sony BVE9000, or the old Quantelbox; FCP has never been happy to perform after splice dissolves when the incoming clip is sourcing the very first frame of Media, however it will do so if you twat around in the viewer for a while.

I hope this helps to give you a better understanding of Walter’s good suggestion in the referred thread.

[doka15] “I would think I might end up with a product that won’t look as nice as the 720p format.”

I’m reading about the camera today, and am sure Barry is correct in stating that the camera supports 1080p

But why do you ( Barry ) suggest the 1080pA rather than 1080pN format? I believe in this scenario 6 redundant frames would be recorded – maybe its for compatibility with more edit systems?

    Thanks for your interest.
Do you know if I can “flatten” the multiple texturing layers on my 3d model and obtain just one file to texture my model with (….in another application)?
