I have recently upgraded a G5 to the BMD approved spec of OS 10.4.11 QT 7.3.1 and FCP 6.02.
Photo jpeg timelines now show the dreaded luma shift of old when freeze frames or dissolve transitions occur.
I have another G5 machine; same config and same >sequence>settings>videoproccessing: RGB
but the video does not shift luma!btw. I have de-installed BMD drivers to no avail.

i dont think its a BMD thing – happens with or without the drivers installed.

What sort of drives is the footage stored on…on both machines?

the standard system drive, it also happens if I use a network drive.
