In order to use it you would need to get all your projects into one and define regions for each. Then you could batch render each region with multiple delivery formats. In Vegas Pro you can do nested projects, but I am not sure if Movie Studio supports that.
The other utilities I am familiar with would only work with Vegas Pro.

April 13, 2015 at 3:21 am in reply to: Which is more important, graphics card or processor?A graphics card will still make a difference, but your original questions was which one is more important. You will get more out of the better CPU than spending less for a CPU and getting a better graphics card. If you can get a better graphics card without compromising the CPU with your budget then you will get some better performance, but it may not be all that it is hyped up to be. I have an Nvidia GTX 570 and now a GTX 970. The 970 helps my preview significantly, but not my rendering (encoding) phase of the workflow. It would be great if Vegas could use one card for preview and the other for rendering, but I have to restart Vegas to select a different card. JR mentioned in another post that having the faster preview has its benefits to speeding up the editing workflow. I can always find something else to do while the render/encoding process is taking place, so for me whether that takes 1h or 2h does not really impact me. I don’t typically have tight deadlines as a hobbyist.

April 4, 2015 at 3:38 pm in reply to: Advice on Building a new PC editing system using Sony VegasYou need to have the appropriate expectation coming from a Mac to a PC. In general video editing is one of the most demanding applications for computer hardware to keep up with, so the components need to be able to handle that utilization for longer periods of time otherwise you will be plagued by random problems that will disrupt your creativity in working with video. The Mac has typically used high quality components which demanded a higher price, but you get a better customer experience. In the PC world, there are a lot of choices and the cheaper ones are not always the best. Search for VideoGuys DIY builds to see what they have been successful with as far as matching components that work well together.
Don’t skimp on the power supply for the case. Any fluctuation in voltage will cause problems that are nearly impossible to troubleshoot without switching out the power supply to verify. So saving money here will not seem like such a great idea when you start wasting days rebooting, reformatting, and reinstalling (unless you are more interested in building and troubleshooting computers than editing video).
CPU cores are what do the real work, so try to get as many of those as you can. It is easier to add or upgrade a GPU (video card) then switching out the motherboard, CPU, and usually RAM later on to accommodate a restricted budget.
Good luck, I went through this in 2011 and built a system based on the VideoGuys DIY build and have been very happy with the results since.

You just missed that promotion as it ended February 26. I’m not aware of any right now, but maybe in April.

Check out Vegasaur, https://vegasaur.com/markers
I tried it out a while ago and it worked, but I did not end up getting it at the time. I probably will get Vegasaur eventually, but I have a lot of utilities that overlap (Production Assistant 2 and various FASST Apps)to spend money on another suite.

Go to File – Import – DVD Camcorder Disc… on a new project and it will bring it in on the timeline for you.

It could be a lot of things. Try disconnecting any USB devices plugged in except for the mouse and keyboard and see if you still have a problem. Many times it is failing hardware rather than a virus, unless you have a specific reason to believe it was a virus. Did you try a restore point, in case it was a driver update that is causing the problem?

Another great option is:

I use the same tool in the Sony Production Assistant 2.0, but this one is a much cheaper option.

When you look at the properties of the PNG file, is it 1920×1080 or 300×300? I don’t have Illustrator, but if I take a 200×200 PNG file and drag it on the timeline, then Vegas zooms in the fill the frame. Try using the Pan Crop tool to see if you can set the width and height to 1920×1080 again and position it where you want it, or see if you can get Illustrator to save it as a full frame so it is properly positioned when you import it in.
