Illustrator PNG Files Re-sized in Vegas Pro 12…
I am making lower thirds for a video project. I am creating the different graphic layers in Illustrator CS6. I am using the Video And Film template.
I save all the parts as individual PNG files (in order to preserve alpha).
My problem is when I import the PNG files into Vegas Pro 12, the files are huge and take up the whole screen. This forces me to have to re-size each individual layer again and try to rebuild the lower third in Vegas.
This never happens when I use Photoshop. I really want to use Illustrator because the graphics, specifically text, is obviously much cleaner in Illustrator.
Both the Illustrator and Vegas Projects are set to 1920 x 1080.
What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your help in advance!

How are you saving the PNG’s in Illustrator? You should be using File | Save for Web & Devices

Yes I have tried both save for web and devices as well as “exporting” the graphic as a PNG. Both yield the same result… a 300px square graphic in the lower left corner of the inner most safe area in illustrator, when imported into Vegas becomes a huge graphic right in the middle of the screen. It fills almost the entire inner most safe area from top to bottom.
I am wanting it to import it and keep it as a 300px square graphic in the bottom left hand corner just like I designed it in Illustrator. Then I will apply the same settings to all parts of the lower third so when I import everything all the layers will be located where they need to be.

When you look at the properties of the PNG file, is it 1920×1080 or 300×300? I don’t have Illustrator, but if I take a 200×200 PNG file and drag it on the timeline, then Vegas zooms in the fill the frame. Try using the Pan Crop tool to see if you can set the width and height to 1920×1080 again and position it where you want it, or see if you can get Illustrator to save it as a full frame so it is properly positioned when you import it in.

You need to save it as 1920×1080. Your error is saving as a 300px square. Vegas Pro always scales all images to the project size. If you want to fix it in Vegas Pro, then go into Pan/Crop and change the width and height to 1920×1080. At some point you need to tell Vegas Pro that you want it relative to a 1920×1080 frame.
