Go to File – Import – DVD Camcorder Disc… on a new project and it will bring it in on the timeline for you.

Copy the DVD to your computer. Open the VIDEO_TS folder and drag the VTS_01_0.IFO file to your Vegas timeline. The entire program will be there with no gaps between VOB files.

Note: if you only have one VOB file, change the extension to MPG and drag that to your timeline.

I’m stunned. I never knew you could put an .ifo file directly to the timelime.

Larry, I got the tip from a user on the Sony Vegas forum about a year ago and love it!!

Mike, actually it’s been three years.
    Funny how time flies:)

Thanks Jorma. Gary James is the guy who first posted that technique.
He’s also the guy who came up with Timeline Tools, a great and free app that just keeps getting better over time!!

If I wished to combine a few shorter DVD’s from old holidays than I suppose that this would be a start. Presumably this file on timeline would have to be rendered out again so that I could bring it into DVDA?

Is there any similar tool that would give DVDA it’s original menu back without having to recreate it?

Would I be better of dragging more VTS_01_0.IFO files to the timeline?

If the total size were to exceed 8.5gb I suppose that I could put it all onto a Blu-ray disc?

    Thanks in advance
