Is probably the correct aspect ratio button that is not activated at the bottom of the timeline.
Click on the comp, then go to the comp menu at the top and click on compostion settings….make sure that the comp is set to a 16:9 resolution…..if it is, and you are seeing 4:3, it is not a big deal, as it will still render out in 16:9.

If I read the first post correctly, it is not just the image quality…right ???
I would suggest going through tutorials to better your understanding of AE. For me, a dead giveaway of a rookie is the overuse of linear interpolation….also the lack, or overuse of motion blur. Too much motion blur looks bad, not enough makes animation look unreal.

I would work for video first… Meaning, create the best resolution render for your TV specs (SD or HD and interlaced)….I would then take that render into a 3rd party compression program and render out progressive for the web. If you do not have a 3rd party compression program, you can bring the render back into AE, interpret the fields, then render out a compressed progressive version for the web using the Adobe Encoder.
Hope this helps,

The vector paint effect is a 2d effect, even if it is applied on a 3d layer. Have you thought about using 3d stroke from Trapcode ?? Depending on your paint work, it may fit the job.

Is there something on the desk to use for motion tracking ??? That would be the easiest way.

Try this:
temp = thisComp.layer(“Audio Amplitude”).effect(“Both Channels”)(“Slider”);
[100, (temp*2)] the *2 can be replaced by any number, or link it to a slider.I am not in front of AE at the moment, but I am pretty sure that this will work.

PS…do not underline the 100, I only did this to show the 100.

The missing plugins are a seperate installer on the AE installation disk.
There are scratch disks….look in the prefs, and also read the manual and help files.

To buy educational (Academic) versions, you need ID to prove that you are in school…..and also these versions are meant to learn on…you should not be making money with Academic versions.

Create the lines using paths and the stroke filter on a solid…set the stroke filter to display on transparent…and set the filter to use all masks.
Next, create a new solid and set it’s visibility to off… Create a mask that follows the wheel….it will have to animate.
Now on the stroke layer, set the track matte to use the new solid layer.
hope this helps
