Precomp the final composition without the dog, then use the wiggle expression on your position. Search around this forum for camera shake.

The book looks detailed….I would say go for it. I learned to read scopes in school when studying TV Broadcasting. Adjusting color without scopes is kind of like driving at night with dark sunglasses…. YOU HAVE TO USE SCOPES. With digital TV, compressions and recompressions, legal video limits are more important than ever. When an illegal color gets to the compressor, it can be replaced with green pixels, mosaics etc, etc.

Precomp each light and layer individually. Use the collapse tranformation button to keep 3d properties of precomps.

I use LCDs (Sony) and am very happy with them. Of course, as Charlie stated, I never adjust to screen, always to scope. I also have an NTSC to view output.
I find LCDs to be kinder on my eyes. At work I have dual Viewsonics. They are very matte, the Sony’s at work have the X-Brite which makes the monitor more reflective….I prefer the Sony monitors, I just have to make sure that there is not too much ambient light in the room.Mark

Camstudio can capture your screen into AVI or flash (It’s free), there is also Camtasia that is suppposed to be the best….both of these two also capture sound. I am playing around with Camstudio at the moment, as I plan to do some video podcasts and tutorials in the future.

That is a great setting, I too was having troubles with partially transparent subject etc, when I found this option it really helped my keys look better. Glad it helped.

“Ob” means that I typed too quickly and was meant to read “on” 🙂
Blue needs a Quadrofx card to work. I use an ATI card, that is why I haven’t been able to give it a spin. I saw it last year at NAB and was thoroughly impressed. The thing is, that I believe that Blue needs that type of card also for the render, as the render has been passed along to the GPU…
To create or modify a track to make it ready for video, either click where it says v1 on the timeline and select movie…or there is should be an icon on the top left of the timeline that looks like a movie frame…this is the shortcut to create a new movie track.
As I said, I haven’t yet used Blue, so I can’t confirm that this is the exact procedure, usually though all Boris products work pretty much the same.

Use replace source as the replace method, it should remove the noise.
