If you are not planning on rendering at home, then you could install the trapcdode suite and use it (just don’t run the keys). It will render with the X watermark, but you could always perform a collect files and render at work. This would be perfectly legal as Trapcode offers their demo as a free download. This is, bye the way, a great way for people to learn trapcode’s plugs.

I have had audio guys actually move the music track down their timeline, thus offsetting all of my timed cuts…I basically sent the project back and mentionned that this was unacceptable…I also pointed out to the director why he should make sure that my music tracks do not move when he sits in with the audio guy.
I agree with Tim’s hierarchy….editor sits between audio and director….quite often playing the role of the director.

You could precomp the coffee cup and in the precomp add a levels filter and create more contrast, then in the main comp you would motion track this precomp.

Kathlyn and I had pretty much agreed (or at least I hope) that I would be at the booth on tuesday morning. Monday I can’t do the duty, and because I am leaving wednesday morning, I would like to keep tuesday afternoon free to run around see all the things that I didn’t get a chance to see yet.

After Effects is a huge application to learn, but a fun trip. I would highly recommend reading the manual. It is not that I don’t want to help, au contraire, but there is quite a lot to know to get the benefits from this package.
You do have a mode on your timeline…it is just hidden 🙂 There are icons at the bottom left corner of the timeline….one of the three activates the modes view….
Before trying tutorials, I strongly suggest reading the manual and playing with the software. Learn keyframing and basics (spatial and temporal etc), once you feel confident with that, then move onto playing with the filters.
After Effects is a fun ride. I have been using it since version 4.1 (6 or 7 years) and I still learn new things every week.

Yes, I am quite excited….I just hope that they will fit my freakishly large feet. Imagine, I am 5’7 and wear 11 or 12….Let’s just say that I have great balance…it also helped me score a lot of goals in soccer last year, basically I just have to stick out my leg and let my freak-feet do the rest.
