To My Knowledge you can not get a consistant “A” Frame without out deck control. The “A” frame must always be placed on “0” “5” or “10” frame.
Deck Control is very important in this process.

    Good Luck

December 14, 2006 at 6:59 pm in reply to: MAC PRO KONA 3 External SATA

    Thank You Guys for Responding

The External SATA drives are 8drives RAID 0 with 3.2TB of Storage from PROMAX. These drives were before used on POWERPC G5 Dual 2 with 4gig of RAM and using the KONA2 card 3.2 version of drivers. The system could capture and output feature length 1080i 29.97 at 10bit Uncompress with no problems. When we upgraded to the MACPRO and the KONA3, we hooked up the same External SATA RAID and started to have dropped frames on capture.

We then borrowed a FIBRE ARRAY with 16drives with 500gigs Striped RAID 0 and a APPLE FIBRE CHANNEL PCI EXPRESS CARD. We capture 2min worth of 1080i 29.97 DVCPROHD but crashed when we tried capturing 8/10bit Uncompress.

My question is why and how do I fix this.
Could I ever use these drives from PROMAX on the MACPRO and perform the above task?

Thank You Again for Your Help

August 22, 2006 at 9:48 pm in reply to: Problem w/ thrid party plugins

The Trapcode filters are supported only on After Effects.
E-mailed Trapcode and here’s the response:

    Hello,

I’m afraid our plug-ins do not support FCP. I don’t know FCP so I cannot help you with the problem.

    Best,
    Peder Norrby / Trapcode

Has this been a problem with other 3rd party filters.
Obviously Trapcode doesn’t have a patch. So this is going to make future project challenging.

August 2, 2006 at 5:24 pm in reply to: Capturing 25psf with KONA 2

[Marcus Ionis] “The KONA2 doesn’t have an “Easy Setup” and the KONA 3 I’ve been told has the hardware but doesn’t have the software.”

    [Gary Adcock]
Marcus – both statements are incorrect. Even My Kona LH has easy setups for 1080i 25

Yes…I’m very aware of 1080 25i but my question is targert towards psf and p.
The client doesn’t want any interlace artifact in the capture. Also the system I’m on does have the current drivers.

SATA RAID 2.91 TB. Most likely we would do this project in sections….I’m just trying to get a faster export.
