I have a big project coming up where the client wants us to capture HDCAM 8bit Uncompress and export SGI files no RLE 8bit Color Millions. It’s 2 and 1/2 hrs worth of footage. Currently I’m using AE 6.5 Pro for the exporting. Is AE7 Pro faster when exporting huge files or the same.

    Thank You

Probably about the same for these kinds of examples. What’s your disk system?

SATA RAID 2.91 TB. Most likely we would do this project in sections….I’m just trying to get a faster export.

You should notice some minor speed gain, but since you only are using 8bpc and doing a simple conversion job, it won’t be that much. 16 bpc is a completely different story… There AE has become whoppin’ fast, even with effects applied (almost as fast as 8bpc). Anyway, not really relevant for you, I guess ;o).
