well….I teach at several schools that will want my feedback on whether we should upgrade and such, so I need to at least be able to speak about the software from my own perspective…plus I want to follow along and see how crazy this all gets in the coming weeks, months , years, etc…

I believe you need at least fcp 6.0.2 to transcode avchd to prorez…i have a hf-s100 and it works perfect thru log and transfer…i’m running 7.0.1 with snow lep…good luck

Thanks Gary…that’s what I was afraid of…Gary..any way for me to do what I want?…which is to accurately monitor, while editing on a new MBP without buying an IOHD or something like it…note i’m using the express slot on the MBP for esata storage…so all I have available is the FW port.

Yes…right now I currently work with a duel monitor set-up…the laptop screen plus a 24″ACD using the mini dispaly port with a dvi adapter…convergent designs have a dvi to hdmi/hd/sdi converter box…
hopefully someone will post with a firm/semifirm answer….;-}

I believe aja has a small converter for hdmi to hd sdi…https://www.aja.com/products/converters/

have you spoken to the ikan folks?…they might have another solution.
