  • Getting HDMI video on 7D to a component HD monitor

    Hello good people-

I have a Canon 7D and a Ikan 8000HD (non HDMI) field monitor I want to put together for better production viewing of focus etc. What is the magic trick or cable from getting from the HDMI-C (mini HDMI) on the Canon to component RGB inputs on the Ikan monitor?

I’ve been sniffing around on various forums and have seen an assorted mix of long possible answers and more questions. Is anybody doing this, is it even possible? There’s been mention of the HD Fury II converter but I haven’t seen a clear solution presented.

    Thank you in advance!

    Regards-

I tried to do the exact opposite with my XHA1. The solution was bulky, needed a power plug, and wasnt cheap. instead… i picked up an LCD that did both… have you tested that you can even use the 7d with a monitor? i stumbled with my 5d via HDMI as a monitor. it will only let me view what has already been shot.
