Hi Guys, thanks for responding. Yeah I am using a Meridian box.
AM trying to capture via DVD player thru standards converter. I have to use PAL as the NTSC setting don’t seem to sync up- seems to sliding to the right all the time even if I patch a NTSC reference into the IO box. Moreover I will be using some editor tool kit stuff which PAL format.
Does DVDIt work with MC 12.0.5 or OS 10.2-10.3.9 I just had a quick look at the roxio’s web and I think it supports only PC.
Mpegstream seems slow but if no choice I will just have to try- any recommendation on settings for export to NTSC mpeg 2? Think I will try DVD studio (for Authoring) if I can get my hands on it.
Any other software out there that works well with MAC G4 and con convert from PAL to NTSC DVD? I do not have final cut pro at the moment. Might be able to get an older ver from our oversea office as they have upgraded to latest ver.
Thanks Guys for sharing1

Thanks for your help Matte… had the same problem today… could be something to do with rendering the audio as well. Tried the FCP rescue…. great software but did not help here. Will talk to the server & FCP guys next week to see if they know what’s happening.
Tahnks man!
cheers!

Sorry,
system is FCP 5.03, G5 2ghz, 4 gigs ram, OS 10.4… QT have not checked but shold be ver 7 that comes with 10.4. Audio file is 48 khz 16 bit same as sequence settings.
I noticed mixdown reduce the clip levels but it is there. Overcome it by re inserting the audio….. will also use an export to aiff and reimport them.
Thanks in advance Jerry… if you know the problem… hear from you! Notice another problem with audio…. another thread for today!
cheers!

You can also try using to colur key and adjust the feathering. If not Key light in After Effects is perfect… works really well for DVCpro 25 and 50 footage I worked on before. Fast and easy on a G5 with 2 gigs ram. Yeah remember to export back as same codec setting for your sequence to avoid having to re-render again in FCP timeline.
Cheers man!

Thanks Walter for the information.
Wonder with firewire edit to tape… did you use SDI on the Deck or pure firewire input? I had sucess once but had problem later on using pure firewire…was told possible conflict with fire from AJA IO box.
Happy New Year!

Do an easy setup with one of those AJA settings eg. AJA YRB to DVCPRO50…..check under edit Video and Audio playback…. remember to turn off your firewire deck first and even remove the firewire. Video playback should set to one of those AJA settings … audio should follow video not firewire. Make sure it is playing all frames…a setting that is above the video and audio plaback …(can’t remember now!). It is also better to use the easy setup after your capturing and then quite the application. Start app. again and redo easy setup without the firewire deck connection(off is better). Then check the audio and video under edit.
Hope these help for now.Can try using a R422 9 pin cable to the AJA control for remote and use SDI output from your deck. Less problem.
Cheers!

had the same problem too… sometimes reboot does not even helped the first time round. Pain in the butt… thought it was my setting. Also tried moving the playhead away from the first frame… works one time.

thanks Michael.
You mean when I export them for web I just have to do cropping to the output files? That means I don’t have to worry about the black edges way outside the video safe are… more towards the end of the window screen on the LCD or viewer view. Guess that fellow that tld me about that got it wrong!
Thanks in advance!
