Hi I am having some problem outputting programmes to the AJ93 deck. Understand that it is not an edit deck but it should at least record with remote using the RS 422. Had some success using firewire but sometimes it stops halfway… and no sound when using SDI(Yes,.. a mix setting using firewire). I have not problem using the deck to capture. It is connected using SDI through AJA IO box. RS 422 connected using the AJA. The assembele and edit functions appears greyed out. I have to record manually without using the remote.

    Any help?

    Thanks!

Not if it is set up like the AJ-HD1200A DVCPro HD deck. RS-422 ONLY works during playback and NOT during record. I can ONLY Edit to Tape to the 1200A using Firewire control. I thought I read somewhere that the 93 is the same way.

It’s the dumbest ‘feature’ of the 1200A to disable RS-422 during Record, but there you go.

    Thanks Walter for the information.

Wonder with firewire edit to tape… did you use SDI on the Deck or pure firewire input? I had sucess once but had problem later on using pure firewire…was told possible conflict with fire from AJA IO box.

    Happy New Year!

I use either depending on what I’m doing. Just simply set Device Control to DVCPro Firewire and then you should have deck control during Edit to tape.
