Hey Jonathan,

Yes, that does not look great – I wonder whether Adobe is mistaking one of the Hi-Hats for a face?

Is it the whole video that is that read?
Or just parts of it?

I tried to pull a white balance on the Hi-Hats, but that did not move it at all.
Will try again later.

Hey Jonathan,

Do you have a reference shot, even a still, with the correct colors?

If so, this is the fastest way is to do a Color Match in the Lumetri Panel (Color).
Insert the still in your timeline, and park it up in the left Comparison Window:

You could also try “lucky dip” by clicking the Auto Color at the top of the Lumetri Panel:

If neither of that works, you’ll need to go manual.
There is a wide number of ways to do that, but try Match Color and/or auto first.

Hey Chuck,

I respect your skill and knowledge, and Java programming sounds like a fun way to solve your problem.

But if you are mainly concerned with face-detection, then it sounds like a long way around via Lightroom, to solve a proplem for a functionality that many editing packages are starting to incoporate as standard option when importing clips.

With regard to your Google comment, that may come down to where Google is based, and where you are located. As Facial recoignition is a topic for legal debate:

In some European nations, like Denmark, they are looking to make laws where the individual owns the usage their own face.
That might not be an issue if it is family videos, but Google won’t know that…

Yes, that hurts the eyes.

Difficult as most automated software packages are more about smothness of the video, than removing/fixing frames.

You could try Boris FX Continuum, or Sapphire:

Mocha is a nother possibility, but is going to take you too long…

Revision also have Deflicker:

If the flash apperas in the same region of picture everytime, you could do a mask and reduce power of the white.
But if you are at that level. you might be better off doubling the frame before and, and then use deflicker tool or similar to “smooth out the video”. Although, at that quality, the fans are more likely to want to enjoy the music, than looking for video imperfections (those that are not blinding you, that is).

That really depends on what you are delivering for?

More to the point, are you Rec 709, 2020 or 2100?

But based on the title of your post: If you are exporting ProRes 422 and you are happy with the look of the exported file, it is likely that you don’t need to do any conversions.

CapCut is a no go, as there is serious issues as to who owns your work.
Not least that a competing car dealer may use your adverts for their purpose.

Envato is great for graphics and other assets.
They have dedicated Resolve Davinci libraries:

There are plenty of creators on YouTube with Davinci Motion Graphics learner videos.
One trick is to look at their curated playlists, and you may get a whole cluster of them.

One free alternative, often overlooked, that now comes with a video editor, is Blender:

Heya Jean,

For starters I would use the original 4K footage, and not downconvert.
Most of the Social Media websites likes 4K.

If you have already done the edit in 1920×1080? (Vertical) and don’t want to redo it.
Then you could upconvert it to 4K using Topaz video or similar.

Hey Keith,

The PVW-2800 is a lovely machine, a real work-horse back in the day.

First of all, check that the red tap is pressed in on all of your Betacam SP tapes. Then the deck will not be able to record to the tape.
Although, if there is transport problems, you may want to use a tape that has got nothing important on it.

To reset a Sony PVW-2800 Betacam SP deck to factory defaults, press the “MENU” button, then the counter “RESET” button, followed by the “SET” button (located next to the Menu button). For a hard reset, try powering off, disconnecting all cables, setting it to local control, and holding STOP + EJECT while powering back on to clear errors and restore front panel priority.

Key Troubleshooting & Reset Methods:

Menu Factory Reset: Press MENU -> RESET -> SET.
Hard Reset/Initialization: Power off, unplug for at least 1 minute, and reconnect to clear temporary memory.
Error/Remote Lockout: If the machine is stuck in remote mode, ensure it is set to “LOCAL” on the front panel and hold the stop and eject buttons simultaneously during power-up.
Battery Issue: If the unit fails to hold settings, the internal memory battery may be dead.
