I hope this is a good place to start… Anyway, I have masses of MP4s starring family and friends over the years and from time to time the question arises “Where does Uncle Bob appear?”

I envisage inputting a photo or frame grab of him and then stepping back as the software gets to work. Ideally (I think) I’d end up a list of MP4s with the minutes and seconds he first appears so I’d then be able to make any video compilations etc

I’m not (particularly) looking for a free options but as it’s a casual thing I’m not keen on the idea of a subscription model even though I fully understand and appreciate the business case for that sort of developer. A reasonable one-time payment would suit me fine. Any advice?

    Hey Brian,

Most of the web video storage SAAS, and now not working Adobe Premiere Pro, offers A.I. logging of video.

One quick search for online services, and https://vidizmo.ai popped up with a price to match.

However, if you dig deeper, Corel has released a £ 49.99 (on discount right now) VideoStudio Ultimate 2023 that includes indexing of faces. It comes with a free trial:
    https://www.videostudiopro.com/en/products/videostudio

They have an explainer page here:
    https://learn.corel.com/tutorials/face-indexing-in-videostudio/

    Hope that this helps?

HELPS – you can say that again! Wow, I just watched their video for Face Indexing and that looks just perfect for me. Certainly it’ll be INFINITELY faster and easier than my current clumsy approach going through MANY hours of video. MANGE TAK for the suggestion Mads (my wife comes from southern Sweden so we often pass through CPH).
