Hi Margus,

You can check the exact details of the driver version as described in the support note How to find software versions in Windows.

We think we know what is causing the problem you are seeing in Premiere Pro 1.5.1 and should be able to fix it soon. We’re close to releasing new drivers so I don’t think a fix would make it in to the coming release but probably in the one after that. The problem does not occur in Premiere Pro 2.0 with DeckLink 5.7.1 drivers but we should also be able to fix this for Premiere Pro 1.5.1.

Thanks for your requests and suggestions. It took a while but we do retain requests for new features so if we see the same one coming up repeatedly, even occasionally, we’ll know that it is something that more people want and we’ll try to add it.

Hi Rick,

You are wise to avoid major upgrades in the middle of a job. When it is safe to do so, I would recommend you update to the latest versions of Mac OS X, QuickTime, Final Cut Pro and DeckLink drivers.

Hi Mel,

Can you please try disabling the DeckLink desktop (in the DeckLink PrefPane). Restart your Mac and then see if you can output from a Disk Flipbook without problems? Please let us know either way.

Thank you for your report and someone else reported a similar problem in this forum so we’re checking it out now. Can you please verify that you are using Premiere Pro 1.5.1 (not v1.5) and also DeckLink 5.7.1 drivers (not v5.7)?

Hi Nico,

I’m glad you like the new audio adjustment feature. It is not something we had advertised but we had received requests for it so our newer products were designed with audio adjustment in mind. That is why it is only available on the most recent products with AES or analog audio input, ie DeckLink HD Extreme, Multibridge Extreme and Multibridge Pro.

Hi Rick,

Mac OS X 10.3.9 is not officially supported by the DeckLink drivers and we generally suggest that DeckLink users either use Mac OS X 10.3.8 with the DeckLink 4.8.1 drivers or else upgrade to Tiger and run the latest DeckLink 5.x drivers. This is documented in the support note DeckLink Minimum System Requirements for Mac OS X.

After Effects 7.0 is new whereas Mac OS X 10.3.9 is now comparitively old and I think the DeckLink 4.8.1 drivers preceded After Effects 7.0.

If you are not using Final Cut Pro, then you are probably better off running the latest DeckLink 5.x drivers with After Effects 7.0. If you are using Final Cut Pro 5.x, then I would recommend you upgrade to Tiger for maximum compatibility. If you are using Final Cut Pro HD 4.5, then you will need to use the DeckLink 4.8.1 drivers with Panther.

Hi Sean,

I wonder if the problem is confined to your current project. Try creating a new project and see if it will output all 4 channels.

By any chance did the problem first occur immediately after you updated to Final Cut Pro 5.1.2?

Are the indicator lights for channels A3 and A4 illuminated?

When the pulldown menu is opened, are channels A3 and A4 grayed out?

The reason for these questions is that I’m wondering if Final Cut Pro is encountering an audio channel detection problem with your deck, even though this has not occurred for you in the past.

Hi Mark,

Is your DeckLink Extreme directly connected to the Digibeta using the DeckLink Extreme breakout cable? If not, please let me know what intermediate devices and/or cables are between the RS-422 connector belonging to the DeckLink card and the RS-422 port on your deck. The fact that using the Keyspan adapater reverses the problem rules out the DeckLink card as part of the problem and suggests that some intermediate hardware is the source of your problem.

Hi,

As long as your DVD player outputs the HDMI signal with the HDCP flag disabled, then Intensity should be able to capture from your DVD player. Having said that, it would be vastly preferable that you worked with the original video clips as the video on your DVD has been squished in to the MPEG format and this will show when you edit with material captured from your DVD player. However if the DVD is the only media that you have, then it will have to do.
