Need to output 4 tracks to DigiBeta. Have been doing this just fine for the last few months. Today for some reason tracks 3 & 4 will not output through 3 & 4. They will only go out on 1 & 2. Downmix is not switched on. What’s even stranger is that tracks 5 & 6, 7 & 8 etc. will go out on their correct channels. If I open an old sequence created with 6 channel mapping it works perfectly. So a temporary solution is just to duplicate the working sequence and cut an paste into it. Any ideas as to why this is happening? Yes have trashed prefs, restarted etc.

System has a Decklink Pro Card running FCP 5.1.2.

    Hi Sean,

I wonder if the problem is confined to your current project. Try creating a new project and see if it will output all 4 channels.

By any chance did the problem first occur immediately after you updated to Final Cut Pro 5.1.2?

Are the indicator lights for channels A3 and A4 illuminated?

When the pulldown menu is opened, are channels A3 and A4 grayed out?

The reason for these questions is that I’m wondering if Final Cut Pro is encountering an audio channel detection problem with your deck, even though this has not occurred for you in the past.

Thanks for the reply. No the problem was not related to projects or did it happen straight after the upgrade to 5.1.2.
What it was in the end was CHANNEL MAPPING. Which I never even knew existed. Don’t know how it got mixed up, but if you right click on the black track buttons on the left side of the mixer you can change their output assignments. How about that? You learn something new every day with this program. (Even if you’ve been using it since beta!)

    Hi Sean,

I’m glad you worked that out and thanks for posting the solution as I’m sure that will help someone else.
