Thanks for the detailed email. I already tried to take the sequence out of the productions workspace and I even thought about exporting on chunk… but then I managed to get this issue fixed.. every time before export I dump the media cache and that worked 🙂

Ive tried that.. its a productions project and basically I dump the sequence id like to export to a new project and then try again.. I’ve tried with premiere 22 and 24, and media encoder as well.. so basically it ends up being a single sequence project. Ive also tried different types of exports, h264 and pro res…. the thing is, Ive actually managed to do an export a week ago, and all of the sudden not working.. maybe I will dump the media cache and see what happens next.

I also tried to export different format like ProRes … still freezes

I also tried in Premiere cc24… still issues, although much faster.

thanks for the feedback. I may be leaning towards a used M1 laptop with more RAM, since this is my remote system. and yes if I transcode everything to ProRes it will be smoother but for this project thats impossible. at this stage.. For all my other projects we use Pro Res LT and its so smooth 🙂 In the end I just dont know how much better it would be from my i9 laptop, which heats up with the 4k footage… is it worth spending 2k so my fans dont turn on while editing.. I dunno…

this would be my remote system. I already have a m1 Mac Studio however even with that much power sometimes playback struggles with b-roll that are different codex. I am ok with that, but I wonder if I should get a used machine with higher components. this would be my remote system when I travel.. even now the i9 works but the fans kick in with the 4k sequences

sure.. but we are a team of people working on adobe productions and we use transcript services and all other things.. I can’t see myself learning from scratch on resolve. also when I hit view older versions I can’t see anything older than 23.. thats what I meant.. contacted adobe and they are sending links…

we are a team of people working together and it was working fine last week.. maybe I need to uninstall premiere and install it again.. this is so annoying.

I can’t experience around to try it on a big project… thats why I wanted to check first hand with people who used it.. I briefly used it and it worked.. my producer used it years ago and mentioned that Transcriptive caused premiere to freeze up and it was a mess.. We are working on a big time documentary with many interviews and can’t just try it.. I would totally give it a try on a smaller project though.

yes I am running a test now.. to be honest I wish Avid was little bit more up to date when it comes to re-linking and media managing but there is no perfect world in the post world so we all work with what we have and know ☺ thanks for your time!
