got it.. I will give that a try.. I also noticed that in the bin display I can see the reference clips and some of them I can actually consolidate as an entire clip..

so my question is, if I work on a project with consolidated media with handles, and someone else with the entire media library (mxf transcodes) wants to open that project, would my consolidated project be offline for them? And If I work with the consolidated project the filenames add an .new extension and in that case would I have issues exporting for online in DaVinci..

thats exactly what I am trying to avoid, me working with consolidated media with handles and the editor working with the true master transcodes.. (the movie is almost done, but i will be working remotely cutting in VFX and new score so I dont need all the 16+TB of transcodes)

Is there really no way to media manage the MXF files used in a cut to a smaller shuttle drive?

that’s what I been reading.. I am so swamped, can’t spend the time to change the settings.. never mind the settings, all I need is my keyboard.. any way I can export just the keyboard shortcuts?

thats a very good idea! thanks!! the only drawback is that it will copy the entire project folder structure in.. but still close enough to what i need!

I got the video! thank you for taking time to do that.. what i was hoping to do is have a sequence in an empty bin, lets say ACT 1 which is 20 minutes and push a button and all the assets from that sequence to appear in that bin.. so all the images, all the video, all the sounds, everything.. I was able to do that in AVID on previous projects and its very convenient..

did that.. and nothing really happens..i have a folder (bin) with one sequence and on the top there are two more fields for audio and video usage.. no source clips in the bin

wait what? i moved the timeline into a new folder and then selected Edit – Remove Unused but nothing happened..

and if there is metadata to show clips on timeline where do I activate this and how?

i am trying to search and coming up empty.. that aspect is so much easier in avid when you edit the bin display and show all assets in that bin!!

what setting is that?

so for instance i have the same clip on a timeline.. i decide to mark up the clip outside the timeline. would the timeline then be updated automatically?

ohh ok… thats little bit disappointing though..

so then we gotta mark the clips to play it safe..

my audio track Mixer doesnt have the paining option.. where there should be the circle with L and R icons its completely gray.. how come?
