Timeline assets display??
Posted by Ludmil Kazakov on March 1, 2019 at 7:16 amIn avid there is a cool option to see all assets associated with a sequence in a bin.. is there such option in Premiere?
i am working on a project with lots of archival footage so what id like to do is move that locked reel into a new bin and dissect all the shots. in metadata fields i will add source and links if necessary and in the end id like to have one bin with just those shots in it..
is that even possible?

March 1, 2019 at 4:17 pmwhat i do is this: make an empty folder titled “unused” in the project panel. highlight the project panel. go to “edit” and hit “remove unused”. then do “undo”. all your unused files will be highlighted. drag them into the “unused” folder.
now whats left is the panel with used files and a folder with unused. -

March 1, 2019 at 6:11 pmwait what? i moved the timeline into a new folder and then selected Edit – Remove Unused but nothing happened..
and if there is metadata to show clips on timeline where do I activate this and how?
i am trying to search and coming up empty.. that aspect is so much easier in avid when you edit the bin display and show all assets in that bin!!

not sure if i linked to this video properly…probably not.
but anyway this the technique i use to isolate pics and clips as unused.
it works well for me. -

March 1, 2019 at 11:17 pmI got the video! thank you for taking time to do that.. what i was hoping to do is have a sequence in an empty bin, lets say ACT 1 which is 20 minutes and push a button and all the assets from that sequence to appear in that bin.. so all the images, all the video, all the sounds, everything.. I was able to do that in AVID on previous projects and its very convenient..

March 3, 2019 at 3:35 pmOpen an empty project in addition to the main project.
Copy the ACT 1 sequence into the empty project.
All the master clips used in it will appear in the project.Does that work for you?

March 3, 2019 at 9:14 pmthats a very good idea! thanks!! the only drawback is that it will copy the entire project folder structure in.. but still close enough to what i need!
thank you!!
