I turned off the video track and that worked well. Im running on a certified HP xw8200… unfortunately it’s not as responsive as hoped.

    Thanks

I have the same problem with the flashing white border. I will move my monitors so they are touching no edges and I still will not be able to get rid of the flashing white border. The only way I can fix it is to shutdown avid and reboot (restarting avid does not even work). I feel it may have begun when I updated to the newest, but supported, Nvidia drivers

January 23, 2006 at 7:30 pm in reply to: Avid Xpress Pro to Encore

I have had very good success with exporting from XpressPro and authoring in Encore. I just finished a dvd where the main program was 24p material, and the bonus content was a mix (inluding some 16:9 and some 4:3).

I found that encoding mpeg2 in Sor. Squeeze only lead to possible problems, so mainly I exported Quicktime Ref. files (and sometimes self-contained quicktime) from Avid and encoded them directly in Encore (which uses the same encoder as Squeeze anyway).

Once everything was in Mpeg2 I authored as usual. What are you having problems with exactly?

I would also like to know this. Other apps have a “reset” button in the effects console that sets the effect parameters to default values. This is much faster than having to remove the effect and re-apply it just to get default values.

  • This is an amazing coincidence… I just posted this exact same problem/question to the Avid message board just last night. The only difference is that I am using DV footage instead of HD. The exact same problem happens when I export quicktime-animation codec from AE and import in Avid.

Indeed, even the 2 files (original and AE-modified), as viewed in the AE timeline, are perfectly matched up… so this leads me to believe it is directly related to something in the Avid import process doubling frames.

The following is a link to my post in the Avid forums

    https://www.avid.com/exchange/forums/30345/ShowPost.aspx

I have found that if I use the dvcpro codec (not the AvidDV codec) it seems to work although Avid warns that I am using a different resolution than my project. I would like to output a higher resolution file from AE though, such as Animation or None.

Can you use the Nvidia Quadro cards with Mac? I was to believe that the highest card a Mac support is the 6800 from the apple website.
