resetting values in the Effects editor…
Posted by Alex Udell on December 21, 2005 at 11:24 pmHi Guys….
Is there a way to numerically set values in the basic effects editor?
How about resetting a channel or the entire effect?
Thanks….

just click on the slider you wanna change and type in the value you want.

December 22, 2005 at 5:18 pmI would also like to know this. Other apps have a “reset” button in the effects console that sets the effect parameters to default values. This is much faster than having to remove the effect and re-apply it just to get default values.

December 22, 2005 at 7:03 pmOK…
so click the slider and type a value got it…
Perhaps a good rule of thumb is to drag the default settings to a bin…
so you can just redrop it on a clip if you want quick reset…

December 23, 2005 at 12:03 amDo you mean tabbing between parameters and simply typing in a value, which is in there?

December 23, 2005 at 3:15 amYou can ALT-Click the button parameter button (on the right side of the effect editor) and that will reset just that parameter to default values. You can also save the effect and drag the saved effect into any of the parameters on any new effects you apply. Example, lets say you have a 3D warp effect where you have the image cropped a ceratin way you like…save this effect…then if you apply another 3D warp effect to a different clip you can drap the saved effect right into the crop parameter area and it will crop the new clip just like the first.
Hope that helps -
