Thanks for the help. I told my work the same thing as you- why bypass the mojo? They insisted that you have to go through the deck in order to see what your final output project will be once it’s laid to tape (through the deck). I told them that I have never worked in a place that didn’t go straight from the mojo. They looked at me like I was crazy. Thanks for the help.

P.S. My final output is going to DVCam so I can assume that the NTSC setup will have no effect, correct?

    Thanks Michael,

It turns out I needed to upgrade my Media Mover because we recently upgraded the Avid. I can’t use MDV because it’s only available for PCs and I am on a Mac.

Do you know if you can actually move media from one drive to another on Media Mover or does it just move files off and online?

Thanks again for your help. I really appreciate it.

Thanks so much, David. That is something I have not tried so I really appreciate the new suggestion. I tried it and it still looks wonky- a little bit better but still fuzzy. Should I change anything else like Aspect Ration, Pixel Aspect Ratio, Field Dominance, etc? I feel like it’s something I am doing (or not doing) but I just don’t know what?

    Thanks so much,
    Lori

    Hi Max,

I am having some issues exporting a Quicktime from Final Cut with an Avid Codec. Can you tell me where you downloaded the Avid Codecs from? I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks,
    Lori

April 9, 2009 at 3:03 pm in reply to: Problem capturing

I have no idea what happened. I turned my computer on this morning and everything seems to be capturing. I didn’t do anything different from the last 2 days but somehow this morning it worked. Thanks for your help.

Just to answer your questions, my OS is 10.4.11, my Quicktime is 7.0.4 and my Final Cut is version 4.5.

    Thanks again,
    Lori

    Hi Shane,

Thanks for your help. I tried everything and still no. I tried capturing in iMovie just to see if there was a problem with my connection but it imported just fine. I upgraded my OS system a while ago and have had no problems editing in Final Cut. However, this is the first time I have tried capturing since then. Could that be part of it? It seems Final Cut reads my camera; I can press play on my capture controls and it plays on my camera but then Final Cut starts spinning until I hit stop on my camera. I have never had this before. Any other suggestions to try?

    Thanks again,
    Lori

Thanks for your help. The computer doesn’t read the camera as a drive. It doesn’t seem to read it as anything. And unfortunately the footage was never finalized to the dvd. I tried to do it myself but it needs the AC adaptor to do that and apparently they’ve lost the ac adapter. I am not sure if I have any options here.

It says that I need to be on 10.49 or higher. I have heard that anything past 10.48 is terrible. I have been thinking about moving to Leopard but am not sure. What would you recommend?

Thanks so much for your help. Do you know why these files won’t open in FCP HD? I can export something with that codec so you would think I could import with them. Do you know a way to batch convert 300 files so I can work with them in FCP HD?

    Thanks again for your help.
