Thanks so much, Jeremy. I didn’t know about the other forum. I just posted my question there. I really appreciate the help.

    Take care,

First, I am viewing it on my computer. Then after I burned it to a disc I watched it on my tv. I think it’s okay for this purpose…it just took so long and wasn’t that great that I thought I might find out my best options for future reference. I am used to Avid where you can export Same As Source and it looks beautiful.

    Thanks for your help.

Yikes…it’s actually just an audition tape that’s going to broadcasters and they asked that it just be a simple iDVD screen and DVD. Honestly, I was just looking for some help because I am not used to Final Cut and iDVD…there is no need to be condescending.

If anyone else has any constructive tips I would love to hear them.

Thanks so much for everybody’s help. I did export as a movie (self-contained). It looks pretty good but it kind of looks interlaced…is there anyway to de-interlace it without going through something like Mpeg Streamclip or other application? This is a 5-minute video and it seems to take hours to do anything. I don’t know if there is something off in my settings but it seems like a lot of wasted time just to make a DVD. Anyways, thanks for everyone’s help. Any further tips on the de-interlacing would be much appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Lori

Thanks so much. I am trying one of the mpeg-2s for my DVD. The only problem was I couldn’t find the QT7 compatible. There weren’t any QT options in the presets…any other suggestions? Also, do you have any good settings for exporting a high-res Quicktime out of Final Cut. I have Quicktime Pro so I have dozens of options…I just keep getting so-so results.
    Thanks again for your help.

    Woah,
There is no need to be rude about it. I actually did try to buy the $10 version but there was something wrong with the server and I contacted the company. I was curious as to another idea in case I couldn’t buy the version. I was on a deadline and didn’t have time to wait. I thought this was a site full of helpful people, not judgmental jerks who seem to think they are above everybody. Do me a favor, Matte, and don’t respond next time.

Thanks so much for the link. If I don’t buy the plug-in, do I do the subtitles like any other title?

Thanks so much for your help Jeff. However, I feel completely qualified to handle this. I was actually the one that the job was handed to by another colleague who felt I was more qualified. I would be editing it- not directing the shoot. I have edited many multi-camera projects, and have no problem doing this. I live in a small area where the rates are less than larger cities. I also work within a small community where I try and cut deals with people. I merely asked about rates because this is my first job with an outside company that I know has money. I didn’t want to overshoot or undershoot and sound like I didn’t know what I was doing just because I’ve worked in a more local, grassroots scene (mainly non-profits). I was just curious about traditional going rates. I really appreciate your help, but would still love to know the actual figure for hourly rates. Thanks.
