Titles look interlaced upon export
I recently posted about exporting a full-res, high quality quicktime for DVD and everyone suggested I export as Quicktime Movie, which I did. Everything looks great but the opening titles look interlaced. Any suggestions on how to fix this.
Also, I had to export a sample of the raw footage for DVD as well…I did it the same way with a self contained movie, and it was too big for iDVD…any suggestions?

Why would you want to use iDVD anyway. How would your client feel if the DVD you give him looks just like the one his 10 year old kid just made. From then on in his eyes your work will be amateurish.
If your time line is interlaced then anything you put on it will be interlaced. How are you viewing the footage? Computer screens will are not interlaced, for it to look right watch it on a interlaced device like a TV.

Yikes…it’s actually just an audition tape that’s going to broadcasters and they asked that it just be a simple iDVD screen and DVD. Honestly, I was just looking for some help because I am not used to Final Cut and iDVD…there is no need to be condescending.
If anyone else has any constructive tips I would love to hear them.

I was not trying to be condescending, I was just stating what I have observed others do and how it has hurt them.
I did also comment on your problem, you however did not answer the question that I asked.
How are you viewing the footage. This will help us understand what you might be seeing.

First, I am viewing it on my computer. Then after I burned it to a disc I watched it on my tv. I think it’s okay for this purpose…it just took so long and wasn’t that great that I thought I might find out my best options for future reference. I am used to Avid where you can export Same As Source and it looks beautiful.

Hi Lori,
The easiest way. If you got all your sequence rendered, export a QT Refference movie (Not Self Contained). Open Compressor and drop your refference movie. Drop one of the DVD presets acording with the lenth of your project and the quality you want the MPG2. Drop an AIFF preset for the audio. Compress.
Them bring those MPG2 and the AIFF to DVDSTPro or iDVD and is done.
You should try to monitor all the process (starting by the FC editing) with an interlaced monitor or TV.
