    Hey Nick
Thx for a great resource, good to see someone putting back into the community. Basically the film wont be starting untill mid year. I cant say too much at this point other than it will be in QLD and have a reputable cast/crew. I currently reside in LA, so i’ll be coming home for the a couple months to do it. Trying to get a jump on the technical aspects now. I know i could easily do it in AVID but i WANT to do it in FCP. I would be pleased to discuss the projects workflow with you, this will be a medium to high budget film so there is a bit of pressure to get this right first time. Going to try and do a test within the next couple months and iron out my workflow/technical issues. If you would like to contact me offlist at liamfx@gmail.com would be good to chat with other like minded folk.
    cheers

    Hey Shane
Yeah its 16mm in to 16mm out. I think the work flow would be 16mm>digibeta>FCP>assemble list>16mm. They want to convert the finished cut to 35mm which i think the lab will do. I want to be able to do the same things i would do in an avid ie..make a list of shots to be scanned for VFX and do a final assemble list of the finished cut. I love FCP but havent heard anything from people who actually use cinema tools. I’ll try do some more research, next stop cinema tools manual! Thx! if there are any users who have used it please do tell your stories.
    cheers

Um FCP is widely used in the medium sized production houses. There is usually a bit of work for freelance FCP editors in Sydney & Melbourne. If you google Sydney FCP i’m pretty sure there is a user group. Me thinks there is a fair bit of competition for jobs though…
