Yeah I was dreading that just because im out of my comfort zone. Im going to do a few tests with some stock 16mm. Ive used avid with negative before and it has gone well, i just havent dived into cinema tools yet. Shame on me. The filming doesnt start till july so ive got a bit of practice time! Thx for your input guys.

I think media manager has definitely come a lot more stable from 4.5 to 5. Atleast my slomos and speed up are managed correctly as opposed to being 1 frame. That used to be really annoying!

Judging by the prices of the Final Touch HD & 2K programs I defintiely can see some reasoning behind the RUMORED 10k+ price of a new FCP 6 Professional suite. Surely Apple will release a prosumer version with Final Touch SD…Fingers crossed!

Yeah i’m going to get a Calsigit S2VR but do i need it to capture DVCPROHD? I thought u can capture that on a normal drive. Also do i just change my capture settings to DVCPRO HD and it will just down convert it for me? I wont need a special card?

Is the deck your using in FCP have speakers? Can u hear audio if u monitor through the computer? Can u see audio bars in FCP when u play? Can u see a waveform in the viewer window?
