Hi All was wondering if someone could help me out of a bind. I just inherited a film to be recut. Problem is i opened the project in Avid Xpress Pro and all the video clips say wrong format. The audio is all there but i cant see any video. I think the film was edited in HD i’m using Xpress Pro 5.6.4 on a dual 2 ghz Mac. Am i missing something???
    cheers

If it was uncompressed SD (1:1), you will need a Mojo to work with the video. This acts as a “dongle” to enable working with 1:1 media files.

Awesome yeah i’m thinking my HD display was also plugged into the system via firewire making the Mojo inactive. I hope this fixes the problem.

Actually, the most recent release of Xpress Pro (5.5 and up) can playback 1:1 without a Mojo. I just don’t think you can output/monitor it without a Mojo.

If you’re getting Wrong Format for all of your video it’s in a resolution your Xpress doesn’t understand–maybe 2:1 or 10:1. Ask your client what it was originally captured in, then have them transcode it on a MC to a format Xpress likes.
