use 2 x 206bw’s. very happy. anything larger would be (for my purposes) overkill, and probably too big for comfort.
they’re 1680*1050, but i’m more than pleased with hd viewed on them.
i still monitor with a sony crt, and can’t see myself in the near future using any lcd for cc, etc.,

well,
first power up 15 > put hdv tape in and play (the deck should be switched to either auto, or hdv, the former if you’re swapping between dv and hdv often).
start vegas, click capture and you should get option dv or hdv, click hdv, and if all goes according to plan, you’ll get the hdv capture program.
CAVEAT, the hdv capture prog will either come up in front of all other screens, or as a tab, and if you don’t see it at all, it’s hidden behind some vegas window – this was a real pain and there’s a few threads over on the sony board about it, and getting it back in front.
good luck

again, good luck.
i found keying with the m2t files quite acceptable (given a well lit, clean green screen). not too sure what they’ll get from a wmv, never tried it – why make headaches for myself….
if you’re lucky (?) they’ll be back for a pro job 😉

well done! but you should point out to them that wmv9 isn’t a good jumping off point to key from, then again, it’ll teach them a thing or two eh?
all the best

that’s what bubbles are for 😉
i really think that if they’re novices, you should clearly walk them through what you’re doing, and how they can put it all back together again, otherwise it could get very, very trying….

ah, douglas has a technically correct and practical answer as usual. however, if your client is asking for a wmv 9, and doesn’t know that it wont carry a transparency chanel, i hate to think what they’d do with either a tga or png stream and separate audio!
no offence meant douglas, but i needed to vent at ‘knowledge’ clients, ie, ie sort terry appears to have been dealing with.
hey terry, are they?

what!?
they want you to key out the green screen, and replace it with what?
why can’t they simply do their own keying – unless their the usual mba’s in marketing who talk the talk but stumble on their first walk.
and to do this in wmv9?
i’m aghast! but it doesn’t take much nowadays to make my jaw drop…
good luck

well my vote goes to edwards excalibur – and i’m still on ver 5!
i took a look at ultimate s (already owning excal. and really could see the need for both). i prefer edwards more utilitarian interface and easy of dropping actions on the tool bar.
that said, i have friends with ult s who prefer it over excal.
horses for courses….
