no way, no how – though i’m informed you can if you go via sdi. a bit of an expensive method to batch capture.
i’ve simply told my edl clients to log whole tapes which i’ll then capture whole and cut appropriately.

edward is correct, simply re-install the program….
i presume you do have a legal copy – from what i’ve read, the cracked versions floating around DON’T load effects….

you are using a registered copy i presume.
you should have as edward describes above…

don’t know the camera.
as for every time – you can set it as a default – click button, and it’ll always start a new project with the cameras settings….

make sure your project matches your captured footage:
file > properties > little folder in right corner > point to captured footage.

render as mainconcept avv/avc.
alternatively, rtfm

if they’re mpeg files to start with, and you’re just cutting, i’d be using womble.
putting mpeg on timeline will look crappy in prevew anyway, but it’s going to take a hit when vegas re-encodes it.
afaik, there’s no smart render in vegas for this type of file. i stand to be corrected though.

strange indeed.
try renaming them to .m2t.
have no idea if this will work, but renaming some ‘iffy’ formats does.
how are you bring them in? try import hard disk recorder

ok. sorry, but what are you trying to open them in?
if they open in 7, then they should quite happily open in 8.
