  • This doesn’t answer the problem, but an FYI. I just had to do a recapture of P2 material backed up on a hard drive. Although the method recommended by those here MOSTLY worked, there were issues with spanned files. Sometimes Log and Transfer would import immediately, sometimes I’d have to do the spanned files in a separate session. Sometimes a new partial file would be created. And out of hundreds of files, there were about 8 or 9 that never automatically imported. I had to manually do it.

[Shane Ross] “mount the drive that you mounted when you imported the first time”

Thanks Shane. Don’t see how this would work as one of the striped drives went south… In any case, I just did a test with a partial batch of the media from 3 cards (the original spans over a 100) and the 2 scenes I watched reconnected fine.

    Thanks guys…

Thanks guys – I’ll give it a whirl tomorrow (with a dupe test project) and report back.

Hey Noah – yeah, I had pretty much had done that last night and it worked great, so many thanks.

One question though – I’ve had a break from FCP 5 & Motion 2 for awhile and am not getting back into it deeply with Suite 2. Not to belabor the point, but is Motion 3, with all it’s new features, really not up to the task of doing a simple title crawl? I guess I’m a bit surprised…

    Thanks again.

Thanks Noah. What pixel size dimensions should the file be in PS?

Abraham’s response pretty much nailed it, and it appears to be a bug(?) in iWeb. Although I didn’t do anything differently in the design of my name on each page, apparently iWeb DID converted this section of the 2 pages that did appear correctly into image formats – which is why they were ok.

My solution, for those vaguely interested, was to copy my name with Impact font from iWeb into Preview, save it as a pdf file (which kept the alpha channel), and simply re-insert it on the needed pages back in iWeb. Quicker and simpler than Photoshop or Illustrator.
